Kirsten obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree in 1995 from the University of South Australia and then went on to complete the Graduate Pharmacist Program with HPS Pharmacies in 1996. Since that time, Kirsten has gained extensive experience and knowledge from working within various hospital pharmacy departments, including Modbury Public Hospital and managing the Calvary Hospital Pharmacy.
Kirsten became a partner in May 2004, at which time she was responsible for managing the Ashford Hospital Pharmacy, where she had an integral role in developing, implementing and sustaining a cost-effective and efficient drug supply service to the hospital, as well as managing the key operations and staffing within the department. In addition to this, Kirsten was responsible for overseeing the continued development of our pharmacy services to patients, nursing staff and doctors, including the promotion of safe and effective use of medicines throughout the hospital.
In 2005, Kirsten resigned from this role to go on maternity leave to have her first baby and returned part-time in 2006 as the National Performance Manager Healthscope. This role was responsible for developing and implementing standardised processes for the pharmacy sites, responsible for servicing the Healthscope hospitals and ensuring Key Performance Indicators were met. During this time, Kirsten had an integral role in developing clinpod. It was also during this time that Kirsten was elected to the HPS Board and is currently still a Board Member.
Kirsten has just returned in Jan 2009 from maternity leave, after the birth of her second baby and has moved into the role of Chief Operating Officer. Having worked with a diverse range of clients and throughout many HPS sites, Kirsten has gained the ability to identify, develop and implement improved processes within the HPS business sites across Australia. She now holds a critical role in the performance of the HPS business sites, working alongside the HPS State Managers and Site Managers to ensure efficient work flow practices.
